We have a long tradition of research and teaching in the field of Deaf Studies. We have Deaf and hearing staff, Deaf and hearing students and we have a strong bilingual policy of English and BSL.

Was set up in 1984 to develop projects in the area of Deaf Studies. Its main principles are: communication and understanding - the attempt to enhance and improve the quality of deaf people's lives and their contribution to society.

myFriend is a new way to make video, audio and text calls at the same time from your computer. You can use it to call your friends and family, your work or office, a relay interpreter and even 999 operators.

Centre for Deaf People Bristol work with deaf and hard of hearing people across Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bath and East Somerset. We are based in our large centre in Bristol, and from here we provide a range of specialist services and are home to several community groups. We want to keep this website up to date and as interesting as possible. If you have news of events or anything interesting relating to deafness, then please do let us know.

BSL Forum continues to meet every other month outside the council in the evenings to discuss the BSL Charter to make sure the Council meets the charter's requirement.
