Sussex Deaf Association
Sussex Deaf Association was known as the Chichester Church Mission to the Deaf and Dumb to provide spiritual and social welfare for deaf people in Sussex and was founded 1912. In 1934 the Mission became The Sussex Diocesan Association for the Deaf and Dumb and an ordained priest with experience of working with Deaf people was appointed. Later on the word "Dumb" was removed from the title. When the laws changed the Association became registered as a charity in 1969. The headquarters and offices are based in Carlton Hill, Brighton. Deaf Sailing UK
Deaf Sailing UK aims to promote sailing and other water sports under the aspirations of Royal Yachting Association (RYA) by working alongside RYA Sailability. Development and training will be the main focus of Deaf Sailing UK by encouraging the deaf and hard of hearing people to take up sailing or other water sport, develop their skills and attain RYA recognised qualifications. Action for Deafness
We help thousands of people to communicate and enjoy a better quality of life by supplying help, support, advice and environmental aids. The organisation is core funded by West Sussex Social and Caring Services and works in partnership with many other local and national organisations including a contract with West Sussex PCT to provide audiology services for the over 50s in West Sussex.
