Deaf Action
Formerly known as the Edinburgh & East of Scotland Deaf Society, is a long established (since 1835) voluntary organisation and registered charity providing a range of services to deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing people, their families and carers.
British Cochlear Implant Group
This Web Site has been created to provide you with information on various aspects relating to Cochlear Implantation. Cochlear Implants have been developed to provide hearing for the profoundly deaf. The procedure is well established and suitable for both paediatric and adult patients alike. The British Cochlear Implant Group is a professional body representing all the Cochlear Implant Centres and other specialist medical practitioners throughout the United Kingdom.
National Association of Deafened People (NADP)
NADP was founded as a charity in 1984 by a group of deafened people who felt that their needs were only partly catered for by existing organisations. Today, the NADP is recognised as the national representative organisation offering support for deafened people who have lost all or most of their useful hearing, and for their families and friends, to help them to regain their independence and enjoy the best quality of life
Elizabeth Foundation
The Elizabeth Foundation is a national charity supporting infants and pre-school aged children with hearing loss and their families, by providing help, support and encouragement. It is the Elizabeth Foundation’s belief that it is the right of every deaf child to be given the opportunity to learn to listen and talk.
