| Description: | LINK's focus lies in helping people adjust to deafness in everyday living through rehabilitation and life skills programmes, training health care professionals in acquired deafness and conducting research that will advance the understanding of this type of deafness. We cater specifically for deafened people - people who have grown up with normal or near-normal hearing, then for one reason or another lost all or most of it. Deafened people can make limited or no use of hearing aids or an ordinary telephone, and heavily rely on lipreading or the written word. |
