Sussex Deaf Association was known as the Chichester Church Mission to the Deaf and Dumb to provide spiritual and social welfare for deaf people in Sussex and was founded 1912. In 1934 the Mission became The Sussex Diocesan Association for the Deaf and Dumb and an ordained priest with experience of working with Deaf people was appointed. Later on the word "Dumb" was removed from the title. When the laws changed the Association became registered as a charity in 1969. The headquarters and offices are based in Carlton Hill, Brighton. We also have a community services office in Hastings and an office in Worthing. |
